There are over 200 of these substances in this plant, which is the reasen behind the evergrowing demand for aloe vera.
There are hundreds of species of the aloe plant, but only aloe vera has the most desired benefits and has been used in natural medicine for thousands of years. This plant is now widespread throughout the world; anybody can grow it in a pot at home. However, its place of origin has not yet been fully clarified - it is estimated that it may be the Nile basin in Sudan, Africa, but the plant has been widespread around the world for so long that we may never know its true origin.
Aloe vera contains aloin, essential oils, minerals, aldehydes, ketones, carbohydrates, amino acids, pectins, sterols, enzymes, tannins or polysaccharides.
